What is the Kirkwood Tour of Homes?

It is a free, walkable, family friendly tour of Kirkwood homes. This tour was inspired by Joshua Becker’s book the The More of Less and the pride we have in our community. Families of all sizes and stages of life are creatively adapting their homes to meet their families needs in big and small ways to stay and deepen their roots in Kirkwood. Come see what makes Kirkwood unique!

Can I attend this event if I don’t live in the Kirkwood neighborhood?

Yes! This event is open to the public.

What is the cost of the event and do I need to have a ticket?

This event is free, and there is no ticket to purchase. Anytime between 2:00-5:00 you may start the tour either at the information booth located near the intersection of Lafayette Ave and Liberty Drive near Kirkwood park, or start from any home on the tour and pick up a brochure with tour map, you can check out the tour map in advance her.

Where do I begin the tour?

A great place to start is the information booth near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Liberty Drive near Kirkwood park. You may also begin at any one of the homes on the tour. At any location you can pick up a brochure with tour map and you can check out the tour map in advance here.

Can kids come?

Yes! This is a family friendly event. Unattended children will be given a double espresso.

When is the Kirkwood Tour of Homes happening?

Saturday, October 5th from 2:00-5:00. You are welcome to see any of the homes on the tour in any order during those times. Out of respect for our home owners whose homes are on the tour, please pace yourself to arrive at the last home you would like to tour by around 4:30.

Where should I park?

Please park along the side of the streets on Liberty Drive and Brookside Drive near the park.

Are there public restrooms?

This event does not have public restrooms available.

Is there a tour guide for the tour?

This is a self guided tour. You will find the home owners as well as other knowledgeable folks at the homes available to tell you about unique features of the homes and the ways that the homes have been changed over time. You can pick up a brochure with tour map at our information booth or at any of the tour homes and you can view the tour map in advance here.
